Hebrews 3:5-6
In order to serve and protect patients, doctors must warn them about possible outcomes of diet, lifestyle, disease, etc. In the same way the book of Hebrews is full of warnings for Christians to hold fast to their faith. Listen to Dr. Lowe as he explains what it means to hold fast and what it is that we must hold fast: Hold Fast
In today’s sermon, Brother Lowe compares and contrasts two people from the Bible – Moses in the Old Testament and Jesus in the New Testament. The law came to us through God’s use of Moses as a servant of the people. Grace came to us through God using His only Son, Jesus, as a sacrifice for our sins. We are easily distracted by the problems we face in this world that clamor for our attention. The author of Hebrews tells us to keep our focus on Jesus because Jesus is the apostle to us and our High Priest. What does it mean that Jesus is our apostle and high priest? Some things go together like work and a paycheck. You can’t get the paycheck without the work. We like God’s promises about His love and mercy to us, but we often don’t heed Gpd’s warnings. The author of Hebrews tells us to pay close attention to what he presented in chapter 1 of Hebrews. This year let us pay close attention to what we have read in Hebrews. What does the author tell us in Hebrews and what warnings should we heed this year? Listen as Dr. Lowe explains: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TU__ern6-Qw
This passage in Hebrews is a testimony from God about His Son, Jesus. Our Father God calls the Son, God. Jesus is divine, a deity. His throne and His scepter represent power and dominion. Jesus was with God before the creation of the world, and His kingdom is forever. What does this mean for you? Listen and find out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i7iWhyiJsYo
Has anyone ever come back from a vacation and told you about a fabulous place they had seen? Have you ever thought that someday you would like to go and see this place for yourself? Did you get up immediately and head for that place? Probably not, but the shepherds, who heard the angels’ announcement of Christ’s birth, did. They left everything behind and immediately set forth to see the Savior who had just been born. In this sermon, Dr. Lowe tells us about a time when we should make haste and not delay making a move. Throughout eternity, the angles have watched as God unfolded His plan for mankind. They were watching when God created Adam and Eve. They saw that first couple’s disobedience. They watched as sin crept into the world, and God destroyed the world with a flood, except for Noah and his family. The angels watched as God established a tribe of people on earth to be his special people. The angels watched as even those people disobeyed God. Throughout Biblical history, angels have been watching as God carried out His plan and His work. Today angels are watching God at work in your life. Are the angels in heaven celebrating over you? Hebrews 1:3
Before there was light and dark, sun and moon, water and land, and all creatures great and small, there was God, and sitting on His right side was the Son. Jesus has always existed. Jesus is the King of all kings, He rules over all, whether we know Him or not. Learn about the authority and power and love of Jesus here: https://youtu.be/IWNUNs3LGWo?si=TKPfS5dLcVJDlukG
This verse says that Jesus “purged our sins.” This implies that our sins have made us unclean. In Bible times, everyone was aware of leprosy, a very serious health threat of the times. Lepers were confined to colonies outside of town. Sin makes our soul unclean before our Holy God like leprosy made people unclean to society of that time. Jesus’s blood shed on the cross purifies us.
