Operation Christmas Child
Many thanks for the ones who turned out to pack shoeboxes and for those at home who packed boxes for Operation Christmas Child. You have helped to spread the Gospel and the love of Jesus around the world.

HELP NEEDED
Calvary Baptist Church is participating in two Christmas Outreach programs. First, we are collecting cans of cranberry sauce for the community Christmas baskets. When you are out grocery shopping, pick up a few cans for needy families. Place your cans in the foyer.
Second, we are packing Christmas shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child as we have for many years. The deadline to bring in the filled boxes is November 17th. Please find more info, suggested shoebox gifts and fillers, shipping labels, and boxes in the church foyer.

It's Birthday Time Again!
Every year the church gathers to celebrate the year's birthdays. This year our church celebration is Sunday, June 30, at 5 PM. We will not be meeting for the 5 PM Bible study hour this Sunday. Instead, we will be celebrating each other’s birthdays! The gym will be decorated to the hilt for one huge, beautiful birthday party. Everyone should come hungry and prepared to eat their share of 12 tables of wonderful food and desserts!

December Dates to Remember
December 10 - Traditional Christmas Dinner at the church
December 16 - Christmas Eve Service in the morning only
Operation Christmas Child
The Samaritan's Purse 2023 Operation Christmas Child Campaign has begun at Calvary Baptist Church. The church's goal is to pack 100 shoebox gifts to bless children in need around the world. The shoeboxes are packed with toys, personal hygiene items, school supplies, and clothing accessories. The shoeboxes are then sent to over 100 countries. When the children receive their gifts, they also hear the gospel message and are invited to attend a 12-lesson discipleship training at a nearby church. Can a price be put on the opportunity to reach a lost soul for Jesus? Let's all get busy and pack those 100 boxes for 100 children to hear the gospel of Christ! Give a gift that can impact a life for eternity! Grab your boxes and labels in the church foyer.
The deadline for returning the boxes, along with the $10 shipping fee for each box, is November 12, 2023.

BIRTHDAY NEWS
Calvary Baptist celebrated everyone's birthday at our Big Beautiful Birthday Bash on Sunday evening, July 30. Our table hosts did some fabulous work on the table decorations. Surpassing that, though, was the delicious assortment of desserts and snacks. From birthday cakes, pies, trifles, and cupcakes to barbecue, muffuletas, salads, sandwiches, and pigs-in-a-blanket, the DELICIOUS food assortment amazed us all. The menu was too extensive to list here! Needless to say, everyone enjoyed a good time, and no one left hungry!
VBS 2023
Many children from Trinity and surrounding areas attended VBS at Calvary Baptist last month. The chidren enjoyed a Bible story, singing, learning scripture, creating crafts, playing games, learning about mission projects, and eating a simple meal every night. They also performed songs, recited verses, and performed for their parents on the last night. As you can see in the pictures, the children were excited and very happy to attend VBS. Many thanks to all the teachers and VBS workers who made the week a successful one.

More About VBS
The theme of this year's VBS is Twists and Turns. The lessons teach that Jesus is for everyone and that knowing Him changes things. During each session, children will have a Bible lesson, a music time, recreational activities, craft activity, a lesson about missionary work here and abroad, and a snack. Parents can pre-register their children by calling the church at 936-594-3611 on Monday-Wednesday between 9-2. We've made preparations for a large group of children so make your plans now for your children to attend. All are welcome!
Good Friday Service at the church, April 7, 2023 at 7PM.

Belle Chanson Concert
Would you like to hear some more beautiful Christmas music from a live choral group this Christmas? The ladies' choir, Belle Chanson, will perform at the annual Christmas concert in Huntsville. Belle Chanson means beautiful song in French, and these ladies will live up to their name. The church van will transport people to the concert. Arrive at the church parking lot no later than 6:15 on Thursday, December 15. Afterwards, concert goers will be stopping at Three Spoons for a frozen yogurt treat.
Christmas Fellowship Luncheon
Come join us for a fabulous Christmas dinner after morning service on December 11, 2022. The church will provide turkey and ham. Members will need to bring a vegetable/side dish, salad, or dessert. Guests are always welcome and do not need to bring anything.
Later in the afternoon, you might want to join with others to enjoy the community-wide Christmas Cantata to be held at the Methodist church. The cantata begins at 4PM.

Our Fifth Sunday fellowship on October 30th will be a Soup and Salad luncheon. Please bring your favorite pot of soup or stew and bread or dessert. Stay for lunch after morning worship, and remember to bring your appetite for a traditional autumn soup and salad meal. After all, it's fall, ya'll!
The Samaritan's Purse Operation Christmas Child has begun at Calvary Baptist Church. The church's goal is to pack 100 shoebox gifts to bless children in need around the world. The shoeboxes are packed with toys, personal hygiene items, school supplies, and clothing accessories. The shoeboxes are then sent to over 100 countries. Shipping, as expected, has gone up to $10, but the cost is minimal in comparison to the joy these gifts bring to impoverished children. When the children receive the gift, they also hear the gospel message and are invited to attend a 12-lesson discipleship training at a nearby church. Can a price be put on the opportunity to reach a lost soul for Jesus? Let's all get busy and pack those 100 boxes for 100 children to hear the gospel of Christ!
The deadline for returning the boxes, along with the $10 shipping fee for each box, is November 13, 2022.

Three children in the Sparks division of the AWANA club were presented with a Bible, a club vest and a handbook after successfully completing the entry level memory verse.
Since these first three, several more children have graduated from entry level to the handbook. a few have even earned handbook awards for memorizing scripture. We are so very proud of all of them. The children are enjoying AWANA, and their beaming faces show it. Great work, kids!

Calvary Baptist Church is participating in a community-wide Christmas Cantata. If you would like to participate in this production, practice is at 4:30 at the Methodist Church in downtown Trinity. All are welcome!
We're off and running with the AWANA season! Both children and leaders enjoyed a fun and exciting opening day for AWANA on September 7th. The kickoff event was an ice breaker where children, with hands behind their backs, had to eat a donut suspended from the ceiling! Everyone had a great time! The children also learned Bible verses in handbook time, ate a light supper, and played AWANA team building games in the gym. Next week, the shaved ice snow cone truck will be at the church; so, kids, you will want to be sure and be there. A light meal will be served every Wednesday evening during AWANA. Plans are in the works for a meal to be served to the children's families once a month when they come to visit and see the progress their children are making.

A group of hard-working church members completely redecorated and repainted the Awana area. Everything looks fresh, bright, and ready to go! The AWANA program for the 2022-2023 school year begins on September 7, 2022 at 6PM. For more information about AWANAs, please read the news article below.

Trinity area churches sponsored a free community wide event in the park by the Trinity Community Center on August 20, 2022 from 9 AM to 2 PM. The event featured music, food, ice cream, and door prizes, along with a lot of FUN! Our church hosted a table with information for residents and offered prayer for those in need of God's comfort and help. The Trinity River Food Bank and the Children's Clothing Bank were also on hand to offer assistance to area residents.
The theme for the prayer conference was John 3:16, "For God so loved the world that He gave HIs only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." The theme for Calvary Baptist Church's booth was "For God So Loved the World." Our members really enjoyed the fellowship with our neighbors at Prayer in the Park!

The AWANA program will begin again at Calvary Baptist Church on September 7, 2022 at 6 PM. We welcome all children in our community to attend. Our Awana program is for boys and girls in these three age divisions: PreK-K, first to third grades, and fourth to sixth grades. Children will hear Bible stories, study and memorize scripture, and play fun and active games. The church will provide a light meal for the children, and once a month, the families of the children are invited to eat with them.
With an unwavering commitment to the gospel, Awana is being used to reach over 5 million kids every week in 134 countries, giving children and youth from every background an opportunity to know, love and serve Jesus for a lifetime. Please allow your children to join us for this school year program.

An old-fashioned ice cream fellowship was enjoyed by the members and guests of Calvary Baptist Church on Sunday evening, August 28, 2022.
There were so many ice cream flavors that the buffet line in the church kitchen looked like an ice cream shop. There was also such a long line of toppings and mix-ins that everyone could customize their ice cream cone or dish anyway they wanted. Thanks to all who participated by bringing ice cream and toppings or by setting up and cleaning up the kitchen. We had a great time eating our favorite ice creams and fellowshipping with one another!
Prior to the fellowship, Sunday evening service was a treat itself. We began with a song fest of everyone's favorite hymns and gospel music. Those cherished songs were followed by some testimonies and Brother Randy's introduction of a new study of Acts to begin in two weeks.
Thanks to Jessica P. for the pictures below.

The BIGGEST Birthday Party of the Year
was celebrated on July 31st at Calvary Baptist Church!
We celebrated everyone's birthday!
12 Tables = 12 Months
Beginning at the table representing our birth month, we moved through the year, celebrating each birthday. We had birthday cakes and birthday pies and all kinds of snacks from taco soup to watermelon!
The church family would like to express a big thank you to all the hosts and hostesses who decorated and supplied the food for each table.
