A Priest Forever

August 15, 2025 admin 2025 Sermons No Comments

August 10, 2025

Hebrews 7: 1-10

Melchizedek is a mysterious priest mentioned only three times in the Bible. The New Testament writers, who were familiar with the Old Testament, used typology to show how some Old Testament people had certain characteristics that foretold of the Messiah to come. Melchizedek, the king of Salem, mirrored some characteristics of Jesus described in this passage of Hebrews. The Promises of God

Standing on the Promises
Standing on the Promises of God Standing on the Promises music

July 27, 2025

Hebrews 6:19

God gave a promise to Abraham to give him a son and through this lineage would come a great nation that would be a blessing to the world. When we make a solemn vow, like in a courtroom, we swear on a Bible. Since there is no one greater than God, God swore on himself. It is not in God’s nature to lie. In fact, it is impossible for Him to be untrue. We can trust the promises of God and know them to be true because He sent His son Jesus into the world to save us from our sin. John Bunyan says in his book, The Pilgrim’s Progress, that the key to the jail cell of despair is PROMISE. God’s promises are important today. US flag
Christians have 2 liberties.

July 6, 2025

Galatians 5: 1, 13

Our liberty, fought for and envisioned by our forefathers, was providential, meaning that it was ordained and approved by God. If God had not wanted us to have liberty, our country would not have it today. With this liberty, comes responsibilities. As Christians and United States citizens, we have freedom from the wages of sin given to us by Christ and freedom and protections under the laws of the United States. Learn more about these two liberties from our pastor, Randy Lowe:  https://youtu.be/zkdFc_Nc6HU?si=DLRb6DjzJlMQq0e4

Hebrews 5:11-6:2

Many people never grow in spiritual maturity. A mature Christian can discern good from evil, truth from untruth. Mature Christians can explain the gospel to an unsaved person. The Double-Edged Sword

Double-edge Sword
The double-edge sword is like the word of God. It penetrates the heart, discerns the true feelings, and is inescapable.

May 18, 2025

Hebrews 4:11-13

The book of Hebrews contains many warnings for Christians about making sure that we really are in Christ. This particular passage talks about the convicting power of the Word of God, which is symbolized by the double-edged sword. In this sermon, Dr. Lowe explains 3 ways that the Word of God is like a sword and 6 ways that this applies to people who call themselves Christian. Listen as Brother Randy explains: The Double-Edged Sword

A Time to Rest

April 2025

Hebrews 4: 3, 6, 8-11

There are two images woven together in these verses. We see first that God rested on the Sabbath. Then we see Joshua leading the people out of the wilderness into the promised land. These two images represent the same thing. There remains a day of rest for all Christians. In these images we get a glimpse of the beauty of the day of rest to come. It is Finished
                              It Is Finished

April 2025

John 19: 21-27

Genesis 2

When Jesus spoke these 3 words, “It is finished,” what did He mean? You may think that His ministry was finished, His life on earth was finished, or His pain was finished. All of these were finished, but to find the real reason for these words we have to go back much further, all the way to eternity past, recorded in Genesis. Listen as Dr. Lowe explains: It is Finished

Tomb of Jesus
Our only hope, our great hope, is represented by the empty tomb.

Ephesians 1

Easter, 2023

Genesis reveals to us that mankind has lost a paradise where we were meant to live. Instinctively we know that we are not made to leave in this imperfect world. The world is really good at crushing our hopes. Youth, work, wealth are all futile., but there is one great hope that is represented by an empty tomb. Listen to find out what great and true hope we have: Resurrection Hope
